Krista Brown, MS, RN, ONN, CFNC

Oncology Nurse Navigator, Honor Health Cancer Care
Patient Advocate

Krista Brown, MS, RN, ONN, CFNC has dedicated both her career and her personal journey to improving the lives of individuals and families affected by hereditary cancer.

A breast cancer survivor and carrier of a pathogenic ATM gene variant, Krista understands firsthand the challenges of navigating genetic risk, screening, treatment, and survivorship. That experience has inspired her commitment to improving access to genetic education, increasing awareness of hereditary cancer syndromes, and helping individuals and families make informed, empowered decisions about their health.

Krista is an Oncology Nurse Navigator with HonorHealth Cancer Care in Phoenix, Arizona, where she guides patients through cancer treatment and survivorship while helping individuals and families understand inherited cancer risk, genetic testing, and personalized cancer prevention strategies. With 14 years of nursing experience and a master’s degree in medical nutrition, she combines expertise in oncology, genetics, and evidence-based lifestyle medicine to empower patients throughout every stage of their cancer journey.

Beyond her clinical practice, Krista serves as a patient research advocate for the Mayo Clinic SPORE Breast Advocacy Advisory Committee and collaborates with national cancer advocacy organizations dedicated to improving care for individuals and families affected by inherited cancer syndromes. She has also participated in legislative advocacy efforts to expand access to guideline-based screening, genetic services, and genetic counseling throughout Arizona.

Through patient education, public speaking, research advocacy, and community outreach, Krista continues to advance hereditary cancer awareness, promote evidence-based prevention, and help bridge the gap between patients, healthcare providers, and the rapidly evolving field of cancer genetics.
